Be Punctual. Arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time;

Inform the consultant, if in case you are not able to locate the place or you are reaching late. Once you reached the venue KINDLY UPDATE THE CONSULTANT; |

Act appropriately as soon as you enter the premises. It starts from how you park your vehicle to how you speak to the security to how you enter the office premises (You might be observed); |

|
Don’t Litter the premise; |
|
|
Greet the receptionist/ front desk professional, before you ask for the contact person; |
|
|
Relax, smile and be polite; |
|
|
Don’t be impatient in the waiting room even if you are asked to wait long (You might be checked on your patience); |
|
|
If you're asked to fill an application form, DO fill it out neatly and completely. DON'T relax and rely on your CV or application or assume it will do the selling for you. Most employers will want you to speak for yourself; |
|
|
Mobile: Switch off or keep your mobile in silent mode. Don’t receive any call during the interview process; |
|
|
DO greet the employer by his surname. Give the appearance of energy as you walk; |
|
|
Smile! Shake hands firmly; |
|
|
Be genuinely glad to meet the employer. Do not sit until invited; |
|
|
Listen carefully to the questions asked. Ask the interviewer to restate a question if you are confused; |
|
|
Talk effectively demonstrating your knowledge of the industry and/or the company; |
|
|
Do not interrupt the interviewer and criticize former employers; |
|
|
Answer questions as directly as possible. Be upbeat and make positive statements; |
|
|
If you've worked before, talk about what you learned from it; |
|
|
Use examples of how your skills and abilities would fit the job; |
|
|
Ask questions about the job, the lines of authority and your responsibilities, but avoid raising the issue of salary or benefits early in the process; |
|
|
Don't answer questions with a simple "yes" or "no". Explain wherever possible. Tell those things about you which relate to the situation; |
|
|
Do make sure that your good points get across to the interviewer in a factual, logical and sincere manner. Stress achievements; |
|
|
Don't lie. Answer questions truthfully, frankly and "to the point"; |
|
|
If you are interested in the position, ask for it, or ask for the next interview if the situation demands; |
|
|
Don't be too discouraged if no definite offer is made or specific salary discussed. The employer may probably want to communicate with the consultants first, or interview more candidates, before making a decision; |
|
|
If you get the impression that the interview is not going well, don't let your discouragement show. An employer may be genuinely interested in your possibilities without you realising it; |
|
|
Thank the interviewers for their time; |
|
|
Request a business card; |
|
|
Never forget to shake your interviewer’s hand with a firm handshake and thank them for the interview with a smile; |
|
|
Two or three days after the interview send a thank you note addressed to the interviewers. (Advisable for Senior candidates); |
|
|
Give a proper feedback on the entire process to the consultant. |
