In the balance sheet of her 40 years life, prominent entries are available on credit and debit and let us find out what is the balance and usable for company today as well as tomorrow while environment is changing.

She is a lady who appears composed at first instance. But the case is slightly different and we need to dig her past for evaluation. Though she appears intellectually and monetarily comfortable today but the case is not exactly the same. She fluctuates emotionally and thus the mood swing. Truth is that she has faced materialistic deficiencies in her past. This past keeps her haunting whenever word ‘change’ appears in thought or in reality. The first perception is fear. When it is not possible to meet day-to-day demand, sermon or discussion on future planning is futile, in her view-point. Thus the tendency is to accumulate best possible to meet rainy days, a common animal instinct. To get that share, in shortages when time appears small, taking fight is sought after option. So her work and return (remuneration) balance sheet tally duration can be stretched to maximum duration of a year.

She is a unique case, as she oscillates between confidence and lack of it. We need elaborate discussion to understand. She is an intelligent lady. The word growth is associated in comparison with self and surrounding. Growth in some areas give sense of achievement, pride and inflation of ego. People move in two societies i.e. family and workplace. Susan has grown comparatively better, by virtue of intelligence and quickness of thinking, in terms of money (which is her basic yard stick for success) and knowledge in comparison with self and family. So she feels proud of it. She has not digested her success well so her ego is inflated and she attaches extra importance to self. Some level of rigidity is essential to climb, but beyond a limit it hurts to surrounding people. So she is not a team player. The company is growing and it has to, in terms of revenue, people strength etc. To maintain self identity, it is imperative to grow faster than surrounding or shift to other smaller groups. Susan is struggling on this count. Only the old employees may recognize her contribution and respect but new will not. They will, only when her approach is caring which she has not and can pick up argument. She is not well adjusted with all round changes taking place.

I have an apprehension that the gaps between her and company, people, technicalities may widen because of changes happening and she does not believe that good work bring rewards and it is natural.

She needs counseling from a senior to whom she trusts best (chances are few). Be careful during the counseling session because if she creates a negative picture of the session then it can turn the discussion in argument backed by her intelligence. Then we may call it a perverse intelligence.
