He is one more person in the crowd and possessing the characteristic any average man with average level of intelligence, slow in thinking as well as action, lack orderliness, short term planner, monotony in work, creativity absent, and adaptability low.

These all characteristics make him rigid in approach and low level of achievement, proportionate to time consumed. Thus confidence level is low, especially about own growth. Though he talks of learning but not comfortable with the idea of constant learning. In fact, in is not comfortable with the idea of being trained by his immediate superior. His intellectual growth will be slow. He is struggling mentally and then physically to cope up with the changes taking place in company, on all fronts. Thus he will not be able to keep pace with changes and gap is likely to widen. This will result in downward spiral.

People with such characteristics and working under such circumstances reduce talking (communication) out of fear of going wrong. They lack confidence and become introvert. His answers on policy or decision making will not be straight and clear. He is a man who will wait, watch, look for others opinion to form his own (dependency) and speak only what group speaks i.e. there is a sense of false security in being wrong with the group (responsibility shared). This is typical herd mentality.

Herd gets driven by external forces. Either shepherd (supervisor) shows a stick to push or shows grass (money) to attract/pull. He will take training only when pushed and gets moving with monetary rewards. It has to be in the small doses and frequently. Frankly, competing firms will not have time for such activities and people, tomorrow.

His job description reads that he has a function of supervisor. He does not have qualities to perform those functions, independently. He is not a team player since he lacks proper communication. When he can not motivate himself then how can he do to his juniors?

He finds difficulty to manage own growth and talking on organizational or national growth is beyond his capability. What ever he has written is what he hears around and then on such situation person resorts to popular opinion rather than what he can think because lack of confidence which is clearly reflected in writing traits. Probe deeply on each point and his thinking depth will be revealed. However the answer is known.
 
There is absence of leadership qualities. He is a typical follower in the crowd.
